Ohio State December 26 Practice - 90th Cotton Bowl Classic

No. 2 Buckeyes Return to Practice Ahead of the 90th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes (12-1, 9-0 Big Ten Conference) returned to practice late Friday in preparation for its College Football Quarterfinal match in the 90th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.

The Buckeyes will face 10th-seeded Miami (Fla.) (11-2, 6-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) on New Year's Eve at AT&T Stadium. Ohio State players practiced for the first time since Tuesday for more than an hour on the Woody Hayes Athletic Center indoor field.

Friday's practice was a typical Sunday game-week practice for the defending College Football Playoff National Champions. Despite last year's success and its second consecutive trip to the Big 10 Championship game, Ohio State is focused on the present task at hand.

"Nothing that has happened in the past has anything to do with our preparation for this game," said Buckeyes' head coach Ryan Day. "We don't need extra motivation to win this game."

OSU will practice both Saturday and Sunday before arriving in North Texas Sunday evening.

The 2025 College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the 90th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic is Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN and ESPN Radio. Kickoff is slated for 6:40 p.m.

This year's Classic is a part of the ESPN bowl lineup for the 12th straight year. Dave Pasch and Dusty Dvoracek are set to the call the action from the booth with Quint Kessenich and Taylor McGregor reporting from the sidelines. ESPN Radio returns as the Classic's national radio partner for the 12th consecutive year with Mike Couzens and Max Starks in the booth and Morgan Uber on the sidelines to describe all the action from AT&T Stadium.
