Cotton Bowl Athletic Association Announces Three Staff Promotions

Amy Scott, Kelly Newell, Scottie Rodgers Receive Title Changes

ARLINGTON, Texas – The Cotton Bowl Athletic Association (CBAA), which oversees the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, and Cotton Bowl Foundation, announces three recent staff promotions – Amy Scott to Chief of Staff, Kelly Newell to Chief Experience Officer and Scottie Rodgers to Vice President of Communications.

A member of the CBAA staff since 2006, Scott adds executive responsibilities working with the CBAA Board of Directors and Council and other internal strategic duties to her role leading the ticket sales execution and fulfillment efforts for season-ticket holders, sponsors, participating institutions and VIPs for the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic as well as taking a leadership role in planning special events throughout the year. The 2025 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the 89th Classic is set to be her 19th to work as a member of the CBAA staff.

Newell, a member of the CBAA staff since 2007, adds management of the Classic's hotel partnerships and additional responsibilities to enhance the fan and VIP experiences across all touchpoints throughout the year, including in and around Classic bowl week and on game day. She continues to lead the creative direction and overall brand strategy of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic and Cotton Bowl Foundation and the hospitality efforts for the participating institutions, VIPs and media throughout Classic bowl week. The 2025 CFP Semifinal at the 89th Classic is set to be her 18th to work as a member of the CBAA staff.

Rodgers ascends to the title of Vice President of Communications on the heels of joining the CBAA staff in 2020. A member of the senior staff, Rodgers continues to oversee media operations for the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic and the press box operations for all college games at AT&T Stadium, implement strategic communications objectives and lead the social media strategy and execution with emphasis on digital marketing for the Classic and Cotton Bowl Foundation. The 2025 CFP Semifinal at the 89th Classic is set to be his 26th to work and fifth as a member of the CBAA staff.
 
"Amy, Kelly and Scottie have each impacted our office and our game in so many positive ways and have been key catalysts behind what we do as a leader in creating one of the premier postseason experiences in college football," said CBAA President/Chief Executive Officer Rick Baker. "Amy, Kelly and Scottie deserve this recognition and we are so proud to have them as a part of our Cotton Bowl family."

The CBAA also recognizes the 26-year tenure of Nancy Mills, who recently retired as Vice President of Executive Services. Mills was honored among CBAA Board and staff members, family and friends with a retirement party on April 22 at AT&T Stadium. The staff presented her with a rocking chair as a gift to commemorate her unwavering commitment to the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic and Cotton Bowl Foundation across three decades.

The 2025 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the 89th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic is Friday, January 10 at AT&T Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN and ESPN Radio.
