Lisa Fortenberry joined the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association staff as Pageantry & Entertainment Specialist in December 2007.
In her role, Fortenberry oversees the logistical and administrative aspects of the pageantry presentations during pregame and halftime for the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. She serves as the primary liaison coordinating with the bands and dance and spirit groups from the participating institutions for activities and events during bowl week and on game day. In addition, Fortenberry assists with various administrative responsibilities across the CBAA office. The 2025 College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the 90th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic is set to be her 41st Classic to work and 19th as a member of the CBAA staff.
Fortenberry's connection to the Cotton Bowl Classic began as a member of the famed Kilgore College Rangerettes, performing in the 1984 and 1985 games. She began working the game as a volunteer in 1986. Fortenberry remains active in an advisory role with the Rangerettes, earning the Distinguished Alumni Award from Kilgore in 2011 and Distinguished Service Award for Texas Dance Educators Association in 2018.
Fortenberry currently co-owns a summer dance company, Encore Creative Productions. Prior to joining the Cotton Bowl Staff, she worked Mike Miller & Associates Special Events and NCA Superstar.
Fortenberry graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Communications.
The Dallas native currently resides in her hometown.
