BRISTOL, Conn. – The ESPN presentation of the 2025 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the 89th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic between eighth-seeded Ohio State and fifth-seeded Texas drew viewership highs.
The year's Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic was the most-watched Classic on record (1991-present) with 20.6 million viewers and a peak viewership of 22.7 million. The Buckeyes' 28-14 win over the Longhorns under the Friday night lights at AT&T Stadium was the best Friday telecast across the ESPN family of network and platforms in four-plus years.
The capacity crowd of 74,527 saw the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic host a CFP Semifinal for the fourth time (80th in 2015, 83rd in 2018, 86th in 2021 and 89th in 2025) in the final game of the game of the 2024-25 season before Ohio State and seventh-seed Notre Dame meet in the CFP National Championship on Monday, Jan. 20 in Atlanta.
