ARLINGTON, Texas – Former Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic stars made strong showings in the major college football all-star games that capped the 2023 season.

In the Reese's Senior Bowl, Ohio State's Josh Proctor played nearly all the defensive snaps at safety, helping his National squad to a 16-7 win over the American team. Proctor finished the game with four total tackles, tied for third-most stops on the team. Florida's Kingsley Eguakun got the start on the offensive line for the National team.

Ohio State's Michael Hall Jr. was named the top defensive lineman on the National team in a vote from his offensive line teammates.

On the American squad, Missouri's Cody Schrader showed his versatility for the American squad with seven carries for 12 yards and five receptions for 54 yards. Tulane's Michael Pratt went 4-for-10 for 45 yards and an interception to go along with a couple of rushes. Alabama's Will Reichard earned the specialist player of the week recognition. In the game, he connected on his one extra point try and missed a 57-yard field goal attempt.

Missouri's Darius Robinson was named the Overall Practice Player of the Week by a panel of National Football League scouts and front-office executives who attended the Senior Bowl.

In the 99th East-West Shrine Bowl, Tulane's Jarius Monroe was named the game's Defensive Most Valuable Player for grabbing an interception in his West squad's 26-11 victory over the East team. Monroe was also named to the All-West practice team by the coaches. In the game, Monroe added a solo tackle and a pass breakup.

Missouri's Harrison Mevis received All-East practice team honors from the coaches. Melvis connected on a 46-yard field goal to give the East its first points of the game.

Two-time Classic alum Tahj Washington also saw time in the Shrine Bowl. He caught three passes for 41 yards. Washington has the rare distinction of appearing in two Classics with two different teams – with Memphis in the 84th edition in 2019 and with Southern California in the 87th edition in 2023.

Three Classic alums – Mevis, Cincinnati's Jowon Brigg and Southern California's Solomon Byrd – appeared in both the East-West Shrine Bowl and the Caribe Royale Orlando Hula Bowl.

A total of 24 Cotton Bowl Classic alums were on the rosters of four all-star games – Reese's Senior Bowl, East-West Shrine Bowl, Trillion Tropical Bowl and Caribe Royale Orlando Hula Bowl.
