Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic Announces 25th Art Contest Winners

25th Edition Produces Record Number of Entries, Dollars Distributed

ARLINGTON, Texas – The 25th edition of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic Art Contest celebrated another record-breaking year with a record number of 12,054 entries and a record-high of $82,000 distributed to support art teachers and programs across North Texas.

The beloved Classic tradition, supported by Amazon this year, used the dollars generated from North Texas Giving Day to distribute $500 grants to 164 art teachers on 171 campuses for art supplies, support art-centric programs and create experiences for elementary students.

The students' submissions have been laminated to be distributed as gifts to the participating teams and used as placemats at selected 88th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic events during bowl week. The first, second and third-place winners per category are set to have their artwork proudly displayed at their respective schools and AT&T Stadium inside the CBAA offices throughout the year.

This year's winners and their art teachers are also scheduled to be recognized in an on-field presentation during the 88th Classic matchup between the No. 9 Missouri Tigers and No. 7 Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday, Dec. 29 at AT&T Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on ESPN and ESPN Radio.

"To see our Art Contest continue to grow and reach more students and art programs year after year is a joy for all of us affiliated with the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic and Cotton Bowl Foundation," said Dave Brown, Chair, Cotton Bowl Athletic Association and Cotton Bowl Foundation. "Supporting art and the creative process for children is so critical for their development not only as future artists but also as students striving to achieve greatness in every classroom they are in. We thank Amazon for its tremendous support and for joining us in amplifying our annual tradition of bringing art and football together."

The Cotton Bowl Classic Art Contest has been a treasured part of the bowl experience for more than three decades. The contest ran consecutively for 23 years before taking a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Art Contest made a triumphant return last year in conjunction with the 87th Classic, shattering the previous records for entries and elementary schools participating.
