ARLINGTON, Texas – Oklahoma running back Rhamondre Stevenson earned the J. Curtis Sanford Trophy as the Offensive MVP in the 85th edition of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic held on Wednesday night at AT&T Stadium. Stevenson's outstanding performance helped the No. 6 Sooners cruise past the No. 7 Florida Gators, 55-20.

The senior tailback finished the game with 18 carries for a career-high 186 yards and one touchdown. Stevenson highlighted a potent Sooner offense that amassed a Cotton Bowl record 684 total yards of total offense.

The Sooners leaned heavily on their ground game, running the ball 40 times for 435 yards and three touchdowns. The Oklahoma rushing attack also set a Classic record for yards per attempt, averaging 10.5 yards per carry.

The Nevada-native was especially successful via the big play as he gashed the Gator defense with five runs of over 10 yards, including a 50-yard run in the third quarter that set the Sooners up deep in Florida territory. Just two plays later, Stevenson capped the drive with a 15-yard touchdown to extend his team's lead to 41-13.

After his award-winning performance, Stevenson finishes the season with a career-best 865 yards and seven touchdowns. The Sooners finished the season with a 9-2 record.
