In her role, Melia assists in the management of the overall media operations and coordinates the media operations team assignments for all college football games held at AT&T Stadium and the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic. For the Classic, she serves as the primary liaison at the media headquarters hotel coordinating all operational aspects of the media-related activities at the hotel and stadium, including accommodations, news conferences, meetings and hospitality. In addition, Melia assists with various administrative responsibilities across the CBAA office. The 2025 College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the 90th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic is set to be her 11th Classic to work and fifth as a member of the CBAA staff.

No stranger to the Cotton Bowl Classic, Melia has been involved in seven Classics, including as a CBAA intern in 2010-11 and working the 75th Classic between LSU and Arkansas. She also played a pivotal role in the coordination by Tony Fay Public Relations to manage and execute the social media strategy for the most recent Classic, the 2021 College Football Playoff Semifinal at the 86th Classic, which featured top-ranked Alabama and fourth-ranked Cincinnati.

Melia returns to the CBAA after a 19-month stint at Tony Fay PR as Director of Operations where she helped coordinate the company’s business efforts in media relations, content creation, cause marketing and event strategy. Her sports events and operational experience also include nine years at the Dallas Stars managing player relations and philanthropic endeavors and serving on the North Texas Host Committee for Super Bowl XLV.
