Biography
Miami graduate student wide receiver CJ Daniels is the Dan S. Petty Scholar-Athlete for the Hurricanes participating in the 2025 College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the 90th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic.

On the field, Daniels entered the 2025 College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the 90th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic ranked third on the team with 35 receptions for 391 yards. His seven touchdown catches tied for the team high. One-handed catch vs. Notre Dame on Aug. 31 earned him the Cheez-It Crunch Time Play of the Week by the Football Writers Association of America. During the 2025 season, Daniels was one of only two active NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision players with 2,500 receiving yards and 25 touchdowns over their careers at the FBS level.

In the classroom, Daniels is currently a sixth-year redshirt senior by eligibility, but is a graduate student in liberal studies. His cumulative grade-point average is 3.914 at Miami and, this season, earned inclusion on the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Academic List. He graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology in December 2023 with a 3.16 GPA and earned Dean's List recognition both at Liberty and LSU.

In the community, Daniels, with his mother and family, hosted an Epilepsy Awareness Health Summit at the Schwartz Center for Athletic Excellence on the Miami campus in November 2025 and visited with pediatric neurology patients at Nicklaus Children's Hospital.
