ARLINGTON, Texas – The game dates for the 91st and 92nd Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classics have been finalized with the 2027 College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the 91st Classic set for Friday, Jan. 1, 2027 and the 2028 CFP Semifinal at the 92nd Classic set for Friday, Jan. 14, 2028.
 
For the 2026-27 college football season, the Classic is serving as a CFP Quarterfinal matchup for the second-straight season following Miami defeating Ohio State in the 2025 CFP Quarterfinal in the 90th Classic on New Year's Eve. For the 2027-28 college football season, the Classic is hosting a CFP Semifinal matchup for the fifth time – 2015 [80th], 2018 [83rd], 2021 [86th], 2028 [92nd]. The Classic and AT&T Stadium also hosted the 107th Rose Bowl Game, which was a 2021 CFP Semifinal matchup.
 
The Jan. 14 date will mark the latest date for a Cotton Bowl Classic to be played. The 2025 CFP Semifinal at the 89th Classic was on Jan. 10.
