ARLINGTON, Texas – The 2025 College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the 90th Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic is set with 10th-seeded Miami (Fla.) (11-2, 6-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) facing second-seeded Ohio State (12-1, 9-0 Big Ten Conference) on Wednesday, Dec. 31 at AT&T Stadium. Game time is 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN and ESPN Radio.
 
Miami is headed back to North Texas in its first College Football Playoff appearance on the heels of a 10-3 road win over seventh-seeded Texas A&M (12-2, 7-1 Southeastern Conference). The Hurricanes are back in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic for the second time and the first time since their 46-3 triumph over Texas in the 55th edition on New Year's Day 1991.
 
Ohio State returns to the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic for the third season in a row, having played in the 88th and 89th editions. The Buckeyes own a 3-1 record in four Classic appearances – 51st (28-12 win over Texas A&M), 82nd (24-7 win over Southern California, 88th (14-3 loss to Missouri) and 89th (28-14 win over Texas). Ohio State is the first team to play in three-straight Classics since Texas A&M played in the 56th, 57th and 58th Classics in 1992-94.
 
The Hurricanes and Buckeyes are meeting for the fifth time in the history of their storied programs. The series is tied at 2-2 with Miami boasting a win in the most recent meeting, a 24-6 home victory on Sept. 17, 2011. Ohio State defeated the Hurricanes 31-24 in double overtime in the Bowl Championship Series national championship game played at the 32nd Fiesta Bowl in Tempe, Ariz. on Jan. 3, 2003.
 
The Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic is hosting a CFP Quarterfinal for the first time and is serving as a CFP game for the fifth time, having hosted four CFP Semifinals (80th in 2015, 83rd in 2018, 86th in 2021 and 89th in 2025). The Classic is being played on New Year's Eve for just the fourth time in its storied history (31st in 1966, 80th in 2015, 86th in 2021 and 90th in 2025).
