ARLINGTON, Texas – The Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic and Tarrant Area Food Bank teamed up once again with the Dallas Cowboys, American Airlines and Arlington Police and Fire departments to host a Thanksgiving Mega Mobile Market on Thursday at AT&T Stadium.

The cooler, windy weather did not quelch the warm holiday spirit on display as 250 American Airlines employees, along with volunteers from the American Red Cross and Walmart, joined forces with the Cotton Bowl Classic staff to distribute Thanksgiving-related nutritious food to 2,300 families. The turkeys and chicken provided were secured by the collective efforts of Albertsons/Tom Thumb, MW Logistics and the Baptist Ministers Union of Dallas.

"Tarrant Area Food Bank could not do this without the help and support of our community partners," said Julie Butner, President & Chief Executive Officer, Tarrant Area Food Bank. "We are so grateful. If we didn't have the support of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic in this location, we couldn't run an event that serves so many families so efficiently and so quickly. We're just grateful for the partnership and the way the community comes together to help others over this Thanksgiving holiday."

Showing thanks through this event has truly become a labor of love for the Classic as a part of its passion to be a steadfast champion for and in the North Texas community.

"An event like this gives us balance," said Rick Baker, President/Chief Executive Officer, Cotton Bowl Athletic Association. "We're so fortunate to get to do the kinds of things we get to do for our game, in the places we get to do them and with the people we do them with. For the Cotton Bowl Classic to be able to help people in need during a really challenging time of year is wonderful and it shows our commitment to our community."

This marks the second-straight year that Tarrant Area Food Bank and the Cotton Bowl Classic have teamed to lead a holiday distribution event and the third time the two organizations have collaborated to lead mass distribution events at AT&T Stadium. The three Mega Mobile Markets at AT&T Stadium (November 2020, May 2021 and November 2021) have combined to provide food for more than 13,300 families.

Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) was founded in 1982 by a group of Fort Worth residents concerned about hunger in their community. Now the primary source of donated food for hunger-relief charities and feeding programs in Tarrant and 12 surrounding counties, TAFB serves 1,000,000 meals each week.
