ARLINGTON- Under the closed roof of Cowboys Stadium, the No. 8 Kansas State Wildcats (10-2, 6-2 Big 12) conducted their second practice while readying for their AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic showdown against the No. 6 Arkansas Razorbacks (10-2, 6-2 SEC). The Wildcats practiced for two hours in pads and are beginning to fine-tune their game plan for the Razorbacks.

“They (Arkansas) are a lot like Oklahoma State or Texas Tech; they try and catch you with a draw every once in a while,” DE Jordan Voelker said. “The first thing is, we always try to stop the run. We just try to make a team one dimensional so we only have to worry about one thing.”

Earlier in the day, Defensive Coordinator Chris Cosh, Voelker, LB Arthur Brown, DB Tysyn Hartman, LB Emmanuel Lamur, and DB Nigel Malone answered questions about their upcoming matchup at today’s team press conferences.

The players answered questions about their experience in North Texas so far, and the high-powered Razorback offense they are set to be face on Friday night. The Hogs come into Texas after leading the SEC in passing and total offense, as well as first downs per game. Stopping the spread attack is a task the Wildcats aren’t shying away from.

“We’re excited to be here,” Voelker said. “We got matched up with a great opponent and I think we will be in the national spotlight and there will be a lot of people watching us.”

Last night the Wildcats were treated to a private evening at Main Event, and tonight the team is scheduled to celebrate with a pizza party at their hotel.

The 76th AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic will be held on Friday Jan. 6th on FOX. Telecast starts at 7 p.m. with kickoff scheduled for 7:32 p.m. Gus Johnson will handle play-by-play duties with Charles Davis as the color analyst. Tim Brewster and former Dallas Cowboys great Daryl Johnston will serve as sideline reporters.

For the 20th consecutive year, the Classic will be heard around the world through the Westwood One Radio Network. Brad Sham, “The Voice of the Dallas Cowboys”, and former UCLA head coach Terry Donahue will be on the call.
